Terms & Conditions

Updated Jul 11, 2026 · Effective Jul 11, 2026

These Terms & Conditions (the "Terms") are a binding agreement between you and Yagyanam, a GST-registered sole proprietorship concern with its registered place of business in Gurugram, Haryana, India ("Yagyanam", the "Platform", "we", "us"). They govern your access to and use of the Yagyanam website, the Yagyanam mobile application for seekers, the Yagyanam Expert application, and every service offered through them (together, the "Ecosystem"). By creating an account, ticking the consent box at sign-in, or using any part of the Ecosystem, you accept these Terms and the policies they incorporate by reference — the Privacy Policy, the Refund & Cancellation Policy, the Pricing Policy, the Disclaimer, and, if you are an expert, the Expert Code of Conduct and the Expert Settlement Policy.

1. Definitions

Seeker (or "you")
A person who registers on the Platform to consult experts, book rituals, or use any other service offered to end users.
Expert

Consultation (or "Appointment")
A paid engagement with an expert conducted through the Platform's chat and calling features, charged as one fixed fee for the conversation it opens.
Ritual (or "Sacred Offering")
A yagya, pooja, homa, path or comparable ceremony booked through the Platform and performed by one or more experts, in the seeker's name, with disclosed materials ("samagri").
Care Team
Yagyanam's support function, reachable from the Support page across the Ecosystem.
Content
Anything posted, uploaded or transmitted on the Platform, including messages, reviews, comments, images, documents and audio.

2. What Yagyanam is — and what it is not

Yagyanam is a technology marketplace and an intermediary within the meaning of Section 2(1)(w) of the Information Technology Act, 2000, and a marketplace e-commerce entity within the meaning of the Consumer Protection (E-Commerce) Rules, 2020. The Platform connects seekers with independent experts, hosts the tools they use to communicate, collects payments through licensed payment aggregators, and provides the assurance, grievance and settlement scaffolding described in these documents.

Yagyanam does not itself render astrological, religious or spiritual advice. Every opinion, prediction, interpretation, remedy and ceremony belongs to the expert who provides it, and responsibility for that advice rests with that expert. Yagyanam's role is that of a mediator and facilitator: we verify who the experts are, we keep the engagement private and on the record, we hold both sides to the standards in this constitution, and we provide recourse when something goes wrong.

  • We select and verify experts before listing them, and remove those who breach the Expert Code of Conduct. Our duty is the safety of the environment and the authenticity of the practitioners we list — Yagyanam reaffirms that its listed leaders are genuine and verified; choosing among their services remains, always, your decision alone.
  • We do not direct, supervise or alter the advice an expert gives.
  • We do not guarantee any outcome of any consultation or ritual — matters of faith do not carry warranties.
  • We retain safe-harbour protection under Section 79 of the Information Technology Act, 2000 for third-party content, subject to the due diligence the law requires of us, which we observe.

3. Eligibility and your account

  • You must be at least 18 years of age and competent to contract under the Indian Contract Act, 1872. The Platform is not offered to children, and we do not knowingly process children's personal data.
  • Registration uses your mobile number with one-time-password verification, or a supported single sign-on. You are responsible for the security of your device and sign-in method; the Privacy & security page lets you bound how long a session survives.
  • The information you provide — your name, contact details, and any birth details you choose to share for astrological services — must be accurate. Sankalpa details are read aloud in ceremonies exactly as you record them.
  • One person, one account. Accounts are personal and non-transferable.

4. The nature of the services

The services traded on this Platform are religious, spiritual and cultural in nature: consultations grounded in jyotish and allied traditions, and ceremonies performed according to shastra. They are offered and purchased as matters of faith, personal belief and cultural practice. They are not medical, psychological, legal, financial or investment services, and nothing on the Platform may be treated as a substitute for the advice of a qualified professional in those fields. The Disclaimer sets this out in full and is part of these Terms.

Free will, and whose services these are

Every service on this Platform is offered by an expert, not by Yagyanam and not by you. Choosing a sacred offering, accepting a suggested ritual, or declining both is an act of your own free will: Yagyanam will never compel, pressure or steer you into any particular service, and no expert is permitted to. The conversation between a seeker and an expert belongs to its two participants, and responsibility for what is said in it rests with them alone — the seeker answers for the choices the seeker freely makes, and the expert answers for the counsel and commitments the expert gives.

Proof of a performed ritual

Proof that a ceremony was performed lies in the updates the performing expert shares in the booking conversation — photographs of the key moments, the sankalpa spoken in your name — and, where the expert offers one, a live broadcast of the ceremony. The Platform supports these proofs with reminders, ongoing-ritual updates and live participation where available. Prasad and physical kundli reports, where an expert offers them, are sacraments and keepsakes; they are not proof of performance and are never treated as such.

Prasad, when an expert offers it

Prasad delivery is not a built-in feature of the Platform and is not guaranteed after every ritual. Where an expert chooses to offer prasad, that commitment — availability, contents, cost and timing — is the expert's own, stated by the expert in the booking conversation, and the arrangement is a matter between you and that expert. Yagyanam's only role is the privacy-preserving coordination described in Section 5; it is not the deliverer and bears no liability for the delivery.

5. Privacy by architecture — the chat lock

Conversations between a seeker and an expert are locked to the two of them. The Platform's messaging system is designed so that only the participants of a conversation can read its contents; Yagyanam cannot view your chats, and no employee, officer or contractor of Yagyanam has any facility to browse them. What we process is the minimum the service needs to function — routing metadata, delivery states, and the message payloads as sealed data — never the substance of what you and your expert say to each other.

  • If you raise a dispute, you may voluntarily share excerpts or screenshots of your own conversation with the Care Team; that disclosure is yours to make and is used only to resolve your matter.
  • Where a court or an authority empowered by law lawfully directs the production of records, we comply to the extent the law requires — and only to that extent.
  • The same lock binds experts: an expert's obligations of confidentiality towards you are set out in the Expert Code of Conduct.

The personal-contact wall

For your safety and privacy, contact details do not cross the Platform in either direction. Experts may not share their personal contact information with you, and may not ask for yours — this includes phone numbers, email addresses, postal and residential addresses, Instagram or other social-media handles, and messaging identifiers of any kind. We ask you to observe the same restraint: do not share your contact details with experts, and report any expert who requests them. Every legitimate part of the service — consultations, updates, delivery coordination, refunds — happens on the Platform, where it is protected by this constitution. Where something physical must reach you (prasad an expert has offered, for instance), the Care Team bridges it without breaching the wall: a team member collects your delivery address from you directly, receives the consignment from the expert, arranges the courier, and confirms the courier details with you, ordinarily over WhatsApp. Your address is never given to the expert, and the expert's is never given to you.

6. Acceptable use

In line with Rule 3(1)(b) of the Information Technology (Intermediary Guidelines and Digital Media Ethics Code) Rules, 2021, you agree not to host, display, upload, publish, transmit or share any Content that:

  • belongs to another person and to which you have no right;
  • is defamatory, obscene, pornographic, paedophilic, invasive of another's privacy (including bodily privacy), insulting or harassing on the basis of gender, or racially or ethnically objectionable;
  • encourages money laundering, gambling, or is otherwise unlawful;
  • is harmful to children;
  • infringes any patent, trademark, copyright or other proprietary right;
  • deceives or misleads about the origin of a message, or knowingly communicates misinformation or patently false information;
  • impersonates another person;
  • threatens the unity, integrity, defence, security or sovereignty of India, friendly relations with foreign states, or public order, or incites any cognisable offence;
  • contains a software virus or code designed to interrupt, destroy or limit any computer resource;
  • is patently false and published with intent to mislead or harass for financial gain or injury.

7. Bookings, fees and payments

  • Consultations carry one fixed fee, displayed before you commit anything. Paying it opens the conversation, which remains open for follow-ups as described on the expert's profile. There are no per-minute meters.
  • Ritual bookings display the full price — the experts' fee and the disclosed samagri — before payment. The sankalpa is confirmed with you before the ceremony.
  • All prices are stated inclusive of GST where applicable. Display in other currencies is indicative; charges settle in Indian Rupees. The Pricing Policy governs.
  • Payments are collected only through licensed payment aggregators on the Platform. Nobody acting for Yagyanam or any expert may ask you to pay outside the Platform, in cash, or to a personal account — treat any such request as fraud and report it.
  • Refunds and cancellations are governed exclusively by the Refund & Cancellation Policy.

8. Reviews and the content you post

  • Reviews must reflect a consultation or ritual you actually purchased. Fabricated, traded or incentivised reviews are prohibited, consistent with the Consumer Protection (E-Commerce) Rules, 2020.
  • You grant Yagyanam a non-exclusive, royalty-free licence to host and display Content you post to public areas (such as reviews and community comments) for the operation and promotion of the Platform. Private conversations are not public Content and carry no such licence.
  • We may remove Content that breaches Section 6, the law, or the dignity of any person, and we may preserve removed Content where the law requires.

9. Intellectual property

The Platform — its name, mark, software, design language, text and compilations — is owned by or licensed to Yagyanam and protected under Indian law. Scriptural and traditional material is the common heritage of its traditions; our arrangement, curation and presentation of it is ours. You may not scrape, copy, reverse-engineer, frame or commercially exploit the Platform without written permission.

10. The authority the Platform retains

To keep the ecosystem safe and lawful, Yagyanam retains, and you acknowledge, the authority to: verify identities; moderate public Content; withhold, suspend or terminate accounts on the conditions below and in the Expert Code of Conduct; withhold settlements as the Expert Settlement Policy provides; adjust or discontinue features; and amend this constitution prospectively as Section 15 describes. This authority is exercised proportionately, on stated conditions, with written reasons on request, and with the grievance path always open.

11. Suspension and termination — seekers

A seeker account may face action on the following conditions. Save for the immediate-action rows, we warn first and act second; every action is appealable through the grievance process.

Abusive, harassing or obscene behaviour towards an expert or the Care TeamWarning and removal of the offending ContentSuspension up to 30 days, then permanent ban

Termination does not extinguish liabilities already accrued. Amounts lawfully refundable on termination are settled per the Refund & Cancellation Policy; data is handled per the Privacy Policy, including your right to erasure.

12. Liability, plainly

  • Advice belongs to the expert who gives it. Yagyanam is not liable for the substance, accuracy or consequences of any expert's advice, prediction or remedy, nor for the outcome of any ritual — these are matters of personal faith.
  • The conversation between a seeker and an expert is the responsibility of its participants alone: the expert answers for the counsel and commitments given in it, and the seeker answers for the choices the seeker freely makes on it. Yagyanam offers none of the services traded in that conversation and compels no choice within it.
  • Commitments an expert volunteers beyond the listed service — prasad delivery, muhurat timings, physical reports and the like — are the expert's alone; Yagyanam's role in them is limited to the privacy-preserving coordination these Terms describe.
  • As an intermediary, Yagyanam is not liable for third-party Content, subject to and in accordance with Section 79 of the Information Technology Act, 2000.
  • To the maximum extent Indian law permits, Yagyanam's aggregate liability arising from or relating to any service shall not exceed the amount you actually paid on the Platform for that specific service.
  • We are not liable for indirect, incidental, special or consequential losses, loss of profits, or loss of data, except where such limitation is impermissible in law.
  • Nothing in these Terms limits liability that cannot be limited under Indian law, including under the Consumer Protection Act, 2019, or excludes remedies that statute guarantees you.

13. Indemnity

You agree to indemnify and hold harmless Yagyanam and its personnel from claims, damages and costs (including reasonable legal fees) arising out of your breach of these Terms, your Content, your misuse of the Platform, or your violation of law or of another's rights. Experts carry the further indemnities recorded in the Expert Code of Conduct.

14. Force majeure

Neither party is liable for delay or failure caused by events beyond reasonable control — acts of God, natural calamity, epidemic, war, civil disturbance, governmental action, or failure of public networks and utilities. Ritual dates displaced by such events are rescheduled in consultation with you; if rescheduling fails, the Refund & Cancellation Policy's platform-cancellation terms apply.

15. Changes to this constitution

We may amend these Terms and the policies they incorporate to reflect law, security and the evolution of the service. Amendments are prospective. Material changes are notified on the Platform (and, for registered users, through the notification channels you have allowed) at least 7 days before they take effect, alongside the document's updated date. Continued use after the effective date is acceptance; if you do not accept, close your account and the Privacy Policy's erasure rights apply.

16. Grievances and disputes

Complaints follow the Grievance Redressal Policy: the Care Team first (acknowledgement within 24 hours), then the Grievance Officer (resolution within 15 days of receipt). Nothing in this section limits your statutory rights before the consumer commissions constituted under the Consumer Protection Act, 2019, or, for personal-data matters, before the Data Protection Board of India.

Subject to the above, disputes arising out of these Terms are governed by the laws of India and referred to arbitration by a sole arbitrator under the Arbitration and Conciliation Act, 1996, seated at Gurugram, Haryana, conducted in English. Courts at Gurugram have exclusive supervisory jurisdiction. This clause does not oust forums whose jurisdiction cannot be contracted away.

17. General

  • If any provision is held unenforceable, the remainder survives with the closest lawful effect given to the parties' intent.
  • Our failure to enforce a provision is not a waiver of it.
  • You may not assign your rights under these Terms; we may assign to a successor of the business with notice to you.
  • These Terms, with the policies they incorporate, are the entire agreement between you and Yagyanam concerning the Platform.
  • Notices to us go to the registered particulars on the About page; notices to you go to your registered contact details.
